Yikes

Yesterday we had our ultrasound appointment to see how big our baby might be..drumroll...they think shes around 7 pounds already! Geeze. If this is true, she must be sooo squished. I don't feel like my stomach is big enough to host a 7lb child! (Let alone any bigger than that!)

So baby girl, lets take it easy on the grub for the next week or two, mmmkay? No way am I going to have a 9 pounder! (I hope!) Good news is that my Dr pretty much said she will induce me on the 19th if the baby's not here by then..so 12 days and counting! Hopefully she comes on her own before then though!

Anyone have a weight estimate that was off? Or are they typically pretty good? One thing we know for sure, this little girls got some long legs! Her femurs are measuring 2 weeks ahead of everything else! She can thank Daniel for that one..most def not a trait from her 5'3 mama!

  1. We had an ultrasound for Cade and they said he would be 8 Ibs (he was 10 Ibs 1 oz), we had one for Brie and they said she was small under 7 Ibs. That same week I had her and she was 8 Ibs 12 oz and that was the high definition ultrasound that is supposed to be sooo accurate. Ultrasounds can ball park it, but they have no way of telling how much meat is on the bones. Many people have the opposite problem . A girl in our ward who just had her baby said her ultrasound was predicting a very large baby and he ended up being barely 7 Ibs. They induced her because they thought he would be in the 9 ib range. I wouldn't worry about you though. With such a thin mommy and small tummy I would doubt your baby is huge.

  2. My boys were both over 9 lbs and "early" according to Dr.'s due dates. Ryker's ultrasound a day before he was born put him at 7 lbs... figures!

  3. You don't know me, but I went to school with Daniel and Jayson and found your guys' blog around the "Ellen" thing! So cool by the way! Congrats on your soon to be baby! I just had twins not to long ago and the ultrasound kept saying they would both be around 7 lbs. When they were born they weighed 5lbs 5oz and 5lbs 13oz. So don't worry. If she gets too big your body will decide to deliver her! Good luck!
