I feel like its mandatory to be in orthodontics and get braces at some point during residency. Daniels brother did it a few years ago, and my cute husband has recently joined in on the fun. Although he looks like hes 10 years younger with his baby face and smooth non-able-to-grow-a-mustache skin, I still don't think braces look too terrible on him!
Hes had them for about 6 weeks now and already so much has changed on his teeth. A year from now he will be in tip top shape after getting his braces off and having jaw surgery next summer. We are both dreading that, but luckily my cute mom in law is gonna come help me out for a few days since at that time I would be taking care of 3 babies.
I jumped on the braces bandwagon too. My hot orthodontist husband put Invisalign on me today. And let me tell you--my mouth hurts. I forget how much any kind of orthodontia sucks. I have some issues that have bugged me for years though, so hopefully I can suck it up and finish what Ive started. But being pregnant and basically only being able to take Tylenol, I could go for some Excedrin right now. 6 more weeks..6 more weeks..
Needless to say, we are one hot couple. Pregnant, braces, and "clear" braces which are still totally noticeable by the way. At least Ev looks cute :) although Daniels already planning out what hes going to do to her mouth the day shes old enough. My poor kid!

A quick update
Not blogging for several months makes me never want to blog again because theres so much I have to catch up on!
Life at the Johnson house is great. Evalyn started going to a Mothers Day Out program at the beginning of September, and it has been awesome. Its on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2. It allows me to get alot of errands done by myself (heaven) and it gives her the chance to socialize and play with other kids her age! Win win. I am savoring the next few weeks I have to run errands and grocery shop without a little one in tow :)
Ev is now potty trained (which will be a blog post all on its own). This new stage of life comes with benefits and non-benefits. I don't think I thought about the inconvenience of potty training as much as I thought about how great it will be to not change poopy diapers for a few months. Regardless, shes so big and it breaks my heart a little every day!
Daniel got braces :) He might look like hes 16 years old. I couldn't stop giggling whenev I would look at him for the first few days. It'll all be worth it in the end! Hes getting his teeth aligned in preparation for a double jaw surgery next summer. His teeth are constantly sore since he can mess with them himself and doesn't have to wait on his orthodontist. Evalyns always pointing to them and now asks me all the time if certain people have braces. Little orthodontist in the making.
Baby girl #2 is 32.5 weeks in the making right now. Shes a huge mover just like Evalyn was..hopefully she comes out with a little more of Daniels personality and a little less of my sass though ;) This pregnancy I've been working out everyday. With Ev I had this crazy bad groin pain, and I have it again this pregnancy, but luckily I started exercising early enough that I could continue to the whole time. Exercising has made the BIGGEST difference for my pain. If I skip a day of working out, it kills me to even walk around the house. (ie Sundays suck). I feel grateful that I have been able to exercise for the past 8 months and hope to be able to continue until she arrives.
At my last appt my dr told me that my due date was actually January 4, and that if I wanted to he would induce me at the end of December. It would be SO great to have her here before New Years for lots of reasons, but if I'm not ready I'll wait til my due date. I said before I wouldn't be induced this time around, and I am hopeful that I wont have to. Send happy baby thoughts my way around Christmas por favor :)
All is well at our house, but I cant believe this year is almost over. I feel so blessed looking back on all of the changes and big events our family has experienced in 2013. Graduation, moving to Texas, expecting another baby, running races, E turning 2, my parents moving to Ghana, etc etc. So many fun and exciting experiences! I am looking forward to the Holidays and celebrating the birth of our Savior with my little fam of 3 for the last time.
