Today is Saturday. And I'm at work. At a dental office. Retarded.
Some days I feel like complaining. Today is one of those days. A few things I'm "looking forward to" instead of "complaining about" are listed below:
1. I can't wait to quit work. My boss is way nice and super easy-going, but let's be honest, I'm not the working type. I don't like people telling me what to do, even if I am getting paid to do it. So let the countdown begin--9 more weeks of work. At the most. Take off one week of being in Texas and probably one week of me calling in cause I'm feeling extra pregnant that day..7 more weeks. Yay.
2. I can't wait to not be pregnant anymore. Awful? Maybe. I already love this little girl so much but I absolutely hate feeling like I do. Small sacrifice for what we will get in return for these next few months of discomfort..but I can still not like it, right?
*Sidenote--I'm super grateful to be pregnant at all. Don't get me wrong. Just venting here.
3. I can't wait to sleep at night. Wait...that's not gonna happen for a long time. Dangit.
4. I can't wait for Daniel to be done with Boards/Dental school in general. It's hard to have him "home" without really being mentally present since he's just locked away studying. Hopefully by September this will change for the better.
5. I can't wait to leave Los Angeles. If you and I talk on a regular basis, there is no need for an explanation for that sentence.
Okay, I'm done complaining. Daniel hears it alot, but he always responds with a positive outlook..which is great-sometimes. (Sometimes it just makes me crazy :) So the few people that follow this blog got to hear it today while I gave Daniel a break. Thanks for "listening" :)

Rise and Shine
Every morning I wake up at 6:30, 6:35, 6:40, 6:45..usually by 6:50 Daniel turns his alarm off and finally crawls out of bed. I'm pretty used to this now, especially since my sister had the same annoying habit our entire lives growing up. Something about being woken up 5 times as opposed to once starts their day off better. Hmm..
The ring tone Daniel wakes up to is Brad Paisley's "Saturday Night". As much as I love Brad, I've begun to loathe the first 10 seconds of that song. I love Daniel, but he sets his alarm every. single. day. Even on Sunday's when we don't have church till 1:30! "Why sleep in? You don't really need more than 8 hours of sleep anyway." False. I think I need about 10 :)
I have to get up to get ready for work at 7:45 anyway, but I love that extra hour. Usually once Daniel turns his alarm off and goes to get ready, I fall back to sleep for about 20 minutes..then Dan will come in to say bye to me. Well, a few weeks ago this was no problem. He comes in, I'm still half asleep but we talk for a minute, he says bye, and I'm out again. For the past week or two, this has not been the case.
Its like the second that he starts talking, she starts kicking. Not just here or there, but she's constantly wiggling all over the place. Once he leaves the room, it doesn't stop! Ha! I have to laugh at it because if Daniel tries to feel her moving, she stops kicking right away. Then he takes his hand away and talks to me some more and there she goes again. It's so interesting how this has happened consistently for the past few weeks. Too funny :)
Needless to say I don't get that extra half hour of sleep that I used to, but when she wakes me up I'm in a pretty good mood! (How could I not be? :) Daniel is out of town this weekend, and waking up today was much less exciting than normal. Bummer. Come home soon Daddy!

Catch up
It's probably safe to say that everyday at some point-I think about blogging. Something always crosses my mind that I want to blog about, it would only take like two minutes to jot it down, but I never seem to be able to find the time. Why is that? It's a little frustrating cause I always regret having to play catch up later, but what can you do. Sometimes Im just not in the blogging mood. I am still not in the blogging mood today, but I'm not going to procrastinate anymore.
Things have been so busy lately. Daniel's started studying for boards and doesn't usually come home anytime before 7 (sometimes not till 9 or 9:30..and the studying isn't complete till 11 or so) , work has got 5x busier than it ever has been before, and in between we are trying to prepare for the baby. The nursery is slowly but surely coming together, but pictures won't be shared till the end most likely. Not for any other reason than the fact that I'm too lazy to try and organize and make the room look good. Right now its split down the middle with baby stuff and dental school stuff. Cute little baby books mixed in with anatomy and nasty oral disease books...sad day.
A few things we have checked off the list for our little girl in the past few weeks:
1. A stroller and car seat! We went with the Britax B-Ready stroller and Chaperone car seat (thanks Alexa for the tip!) It will be arriving tomorrow and I will definitely be posting pictures. It was a pretty big purchase but we are hoping to be able to use it for a long time.
2. About three weeks ago when we were in Utah, my sweet sister in laws Stephanie 1 and Stephanie 2, threw us a little family baby shower. It was so much fun and was so great to see everyone. They (along with my other brother and sister in laws) were sweet enough to buy me the diaper bag I've been dreaming about for months but couldn't justify getting. I will post pictures as soon as I get it in the mail. But a HUGE thank you to my awesome sister in laws! I love you all.
3. We found a changing table for sale for like 25 bucks on Craigslist. It was an ugly brown but we sanded it, re-painted it white, and attempted to "antique" it. I bought some baskets for the shelves yesterday and am going fabric shopping today to make some liners. There's always something to do now on my days off!
4. Daniel painted the nursery a few weeks ago! He's the best.
5. My lovely mother in law bought us a convertible Chariot jogging stroller. Daniel is so excited to stick it on his bike and pull our little girl around. I wouldn't put it past him to load the thing with bricks just to add difficulty onto his cycling work out. Those crazy Johnson genes ;)
I know there are other things cause I feel like we are getting ready for her all day everyday..but my brain is shot. Oh the joys of being so uncomfortable you can't sleep at night. I think it'll be a lazy day today for the most part..until Daniel gets home and we can go grocery shopping with me and we do laundry. So fun right? :)
P.S.--I think we are 95 percent sure on what her name will be!
....to be continued :)
