It's raining, it's pouring..

Well, it has been raining here in Los Angeles for nearly 4 days straight now. I worked all day on Monday, and it was dark enough outside to be 8 o clock at night the whole day. but I LOVE THE RAIN! What I do NOT love, is dumb Californians in the rain. It barely sprinkles outside, and people slow down to 45 on the freeway, headlights on, hands at 10 and 2, and are CONSTANTLY slamming on their brakes. What in the world would people do if it ever snowed here? I think everyone would most likely go into hiding. Which would be wonderful! I don't know if they are worried about the rain drops denting their precious Bentleys or what, but it might be the most annoying thing in the world. Therefore, no leaving the house for me today. Can't handle it. I miss how Sugar Land would get 3-5 inches of rain in 2 hours, and it was exciting. School would close and kids would go outside to play in the gutters for the rest of the afternoon. Probably not the most sanitary thing to do, but we made the most of it. There's another reason why Texas/any other state is better than California :) Okay I'm done venting. 2 more days of this seems pretty do-able.

Another low point--Daniel has been really sick for the past few days. I didn't go to work yesterday cause I had to take him to the doctor..he's kinda starting to feel better which is good. The doctor wasn't much help at all, but we figure if we had to pay a billion dollars for his schools health insurance, we might as well take advantage of it. After a few hours of laying there and waiting for strep test results, the doctor asked if he needed a pass back to class. Weird much? In college? Interesting. "Uhh..no thanks..don't think thats necessary". I would love to meet a professor that calls roll for all 88 students in each of the 4 lectures a day during dental school. Anyway, he's kinda feeling better today. Went to school anyway and I haven't heard from him yet, so that's a good sign! He lost 5 pounds yesterday. In one day. Ummm can I get sick for 24 hours and lose 5 pounds? Please?

I thought I would post some pictures of Christmas break.

We went to the beach when we got back. Going from snow to this..not too shabby.
Of course we had to go and see the lights. It was freezing!!

Proof that we DID go to the hospital the day she was born! Sean and Alexa have no pictures of us with little Hattie! So much fun. We love all of our nieces and nephews (Daniels side...who knows when my side will get any boys)
Oh hey look its my best friend! Katie came as you diligent readers know, and we went sledding. :)
Kaylee loved her princess dresses. She also loves to make weird faces. We miss her.
Heres my whole family, I love them. We didn't get any pictures of Daniels whole family this year :(

We're looking forward to a 2 week break during the summer!! All is well. Hope everyone is having a great new year!

So much to tell..heres the short version!

So much has happened since my last post. First off, Christmas break was awesome! We got to spend about a week with each of our families..but it still wasn't long enough! We had to come back to California on the 28th because I had to work that week... I think Daniel was ready to come back to reality anyway so it worked out. The first week of break was with my family (and Katie for most of it). We went sledding, built a massive snowman, played games, and celebrated Christmas on the 14th since most of the kids weren't going to be around for Christmas Day. It was so much fun to all be together, and we even got to be there when Hattie was born! She is so cute and we're so excited to have another girl in the family. I wonder if there are ever going to be any nephews on our side! Overall it was such a fun week. We can't wait to go back again..maybe in June? We'll see! I took a ton of pictures but for some reason I can't upload them to my computer..I'll put them up later :)

The second week we spent in Idaho Falls/Sun Valley, Idaho.  The first few days in Idaho Falls were pretty low key. We did go see The Blind Side which was amazing! Sandra Bullock is unreal. We actually saw a ton of movies over the break..Avatar (twice) Sherlock Holmes, The Blind Side, New Moon...what can I say--Daniel NEVER has time to go to the movies. Therefore, we pretty much went every day. Haha :) In Sun Valley we stayed at the Symphony Cottage with all of Daniels family. His sweet grandparents were nice enough to rent out this huge 10 bedroom cottage where The Bachelor was filmed last year. It was beautiful and the view outside of the windows was incredible! If you have never been to Sun Valley--go. It's like a fairy tale. We played a ton of games with family, and Daniel went snowboarding one day. I chose to babysit the kids due to the 10 degree weather outside, but he had a blast. We were so sad to come back! Time flies when you're on vacation and goes by so freaking slow when we are back here in CA. We would love some visitors this year since we don't have any scheduled yet...

Life is back to being crazy again. Work is going well for me, as good as it could be going  I guess. Daniel is back in classes and back to studying. We're looking forward to the week long break that he has in March! Today he is at an Army base learning about what this program that he has joined is going to offer us over the next 8 years. I'm proud of him for everything he is involving himself in. It seems like every day he's started another research project, A-ced another quiz or test, or helps someone else in some way. He's an overachiever and I love it!

Pictures to come soon of everything! Dumb Costco doesn't have them ready for me yet!
