Daniel has finals this week, so my night/weekend has been a pretty boring one...to say the least.
Tonight, besides playing words with friends with my brother in law on my phone, I was flipping through channels on TV. I came across TLC's "Sister Wives". I've seen bits and pieces of this show in the past, but never really watched a full episode till tonight. Honestly, the only thing that I kept thinking while watching this stupid show was--I hope that people are not DUMB enough to actually believe that the people in this crazy family are members of the same church that I am a part of. They are constantly referring to themselves as "Mormons" and occasionally throw the word "Fundamentalist Mormons" in front of it. There are few things that bother me more than media putting a negative connotation in relation with my faith. This family is clearly screwed up both mentally and emotionally to believe that their way of life is what our Heavenly father intended the "family" to consist of. Venting? Yes. But I've dealt with so many questions about my church my entire life--and tv shows like this just frustrate me. No, we do not practice pologamy. No, we do not offer human sacrifices (yes, I've been asked this before..ridiculous) No, we are not the same as the Omish. Yes, we use electricity. No, we don't drink alcohol. No, we don't gamble. Yes we drive cars. Come on people.
Educate yourself. Ooooh my goodness. So annoying.
I'm done :) Hope everyone else didn't waste their night on this show :)
