Long Week

Oh man. This past week was a tough one for our little family. Daniel has had the past 2 weeks off of school (summer break) and he started back today. Yay for his first day of his THIRD year of dental school! Where has the time gone? SO proud of my husband! Anyway..back to the point.

At the end of every semester comes finals. With the insane amount of classes these dental students take every semester, it ends up being about 12 tests in 5 days (give or take 1-2 depending on the semester). The week before finals and finals week consist of Daniel getting about 3 hours of sleep a night on average, eating whenever he remembers to, and him being stressed to the MAX. It's not a fun week for either one of us to be honest. I dread finals week every semester..but I kinda dread the week after finals more. Without fail, the day after finals end, Daniel gets sick. Its always the same thing. Starts with a sore throat, then he gets a cold for a few weeks (basically during his whole break), and sometimes he will get the flu. This time was a liiiiittle different.

The first week of his break we were in training everyday for our new job. Going from finals straight to this didn't let Daniel get a break for a second, but as soon as training ended last Friday--the sickness started. It started as a sore throat..and a few days later we were in the emergency room. My poor husbands strep throat turned into a peritonsillar abscess..his throat was so swollen it was blocking half of his airway, he couldnt open his jaw, turn his neck even an inch to the left or right side, and pretty much hadn't eaten in 4 days. Being 9 months pregnant and trying to take care of him was suuuuper exhausting! Not to mention I was kinda freaking out not knowing what the crap was happening to him. Luckily after 2 days in the emergency room, loooots of vicodin, motrin, and antibiotics his abscess started to go away and he was a new person. My mom came down to help me take care of him and myself, but by the time she got here Daniel was feeling a billion times better. She still stayed and hung out with us for the weekend which was fun! We got pedicures and she did our laundry, went grocery shopping, etc. It was great to have her here..hopefully she will be back SOON cause im crossing my fingers for this little girl to arrive before her due date.

Watching someone you love be so sick is hard. This past week has made me so grateful for my health, smart doctors and modern medicine! Daniel started back at school today. Needless to say his "break" was terrible, but oh well. It's so fun to be able to say he is in his THIRD year! More than halfway done! Wahooooo! So crazy!

PS...3 weeks from tomorrow is my due date. What?!?

Maternity Shots

Since the beginning of this pregnancy, several people have told me to take pictures and document. Well, needless to say I have written in my journal once, and done ONE pregnancy blog. I know I will probably regret it later. Well, when I was in Utah last month I asked my SIL's best friend to snap a few pregnancy photos of me and some with Daniel. As much as I hate seeing pictures of myself while I've been pregnant, Amanda somehow works wonders. Check out her photography at www.photographybyamandahendrickson.com. She's amazing! Here's a few:

Thanks again to Amanda for sharing your wonderful talents with us! And thanks to Alexa for forcing me to get pictures taken ;) I know I'll look back on these and love them forever, but as for now, I can't wait to take a few pictures of us with her, and me with a flatter stomach. 32 days now and counting!

Getting there!

I finally got the baby bedding that I ordered about 6 weeks ago and I've got to say that it was worth the wait!! I'm loving putting this nursery together for our little girl..but I might have had a few panic attacks this week realizing how soon this is all going to be happening. 1 month and 2 days till my due date..and I'm praying for an early delivery, even though the nursery isn't quite finished yet. Pictures will come soon! SO much to blog about, so little time. Here's a few other things that have been going on:

1. My friends here in CA threw me a lovely little shower, they're the best. Sadly there were only a handful of pictures taken..I know, I'm lame.
2. We have a new job, and I'm done with my old one. We will be apartment coordinators at the UCLA apartments..basically we work from home once every 6 weeks and Daniel might get called out to unclog a toilet at 3 am..glad I have the baby as an excuse to not go do that part :)
3. It was my 22nd birthday, and we celebrated eating cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. (Sidenote, I still loathe cheesecake, but my parents introduced me to one kind that is delish..but no, normal cheesecake is still the nastiest thing ever!)
4. Daniel's sick this weekend. He gets sick after every semester comes to an end :/ It's the worst! A sick husband is terrible. Hopefully this goes away soon.

I'm planning on posting a lot today to catch up..so stay tuned!
