What we've been up to

September is off to a good start! This is going to be a pretty fun month for us! Yesterday we got home from spending a week up in Idaho with Daniel's family. His little brother, Jordan, got home on Tuesday night from serving a mission in Kiev, Ukraine. We we're lucky and got to to go up to Idaho on Sunday night and help get things ready for his arrival. We made a big cloth Welcome Home banner and got to the airport about 2 hours early to make sure that we were there when he came walkin down the runway (gotta love tiny Idaho Falls airport). The Johnson's didn't want to repeat the sad story that another brother, Spencer, experienced a few years ago when no one was at the airport when he was returning home from his mission. But it was so fun to see Jordan again! He was a great missionary and I'm so glad that I met him before he left so that I wasn't a total stranger who married his brother while he was gone:)
Less than 24 hours after Jordan got home, he was already doing flips and tricks out on the lake. My father in laws partner at his office has an awesome boat, and was nice enough to take us out for a few hours on Wednesday afternoon. It was pretty cold, so I stayed wrapped up in blankets while others went surfing and wakeboarding. Now, more than ever, we can't wait to have money one day and own our own boat!
Idaho is a pretty fun place. I don't give it enough credit:) For Daniel's birthday, we went up to Jackson for the day. Daniel has wanted a good camping knife for a while now, and finally found one that he liked on this trip. I love walking around the little shops there. I am amazed though at some of the things people will actually purchase. I saw some boots which I thought were pretty cute, turned them upside down to look at the price--a whopping 1400.00 dollars! Thanks but no thanks. I'll stick with my Target 20 dollar pair. We had a fun day though. We went down the Alpine Slide, got some ice cream, and saw big foot.

We went up to Daniel's family's cabin in Island Park for a few days, which is always fun. Overall it was a great trip! Hopefully we can go back again during Christmas break. When we got home from Idaho, we had 24 hours to unpack, repack, and go backpacking. We were hoping to get to go up to Yosemite for a few days, but didn't have enough time. We went to San Bernardino National Forest just for 2 days, but it's always nice to get away from the city and relax a bit. That was from Tuesday-Wednesday, then on Thursday we headed down to Oceanside, CA and babysat Dan's 3 nieces and 1 nephew (all age 7 and under). It was a hectic 4 days, but we had a good time! We learned alot and can say that we have a deeper appreciation for people with lots of kids! Let's just say that there is a reason why you start with one baby and move up! We love those kids though and had a lot of fun while we were there for those 4 days..then came home and slept alot for the next few :)

Then it was off to Utah! We spent the last 4 days of Daniel's 3 week break with my family. The beautiful Aubrie Mays got married last Friday, so it gave us a good excuse to go out and visit. I was so glad that I got to be there for the wedding! I've got to say though that as soon as the doors opened and Aubrie and her dad walked in, the tears started coming. There's something about weddings that gets me. It was a beautiful ceremony and it was so fun to see her whole family and lots of Sugarlanders at the reception that night. So congratulations Aubrie Eastman! We love you.

Everytime we go home, we don't take pictures. It's so annoying and I always regret it when we leave, but we completly forget while we are there! We were able to celebrate Sean and Halies birthdays, and spent lots of time with my adorable nieces. I love being able to spend time with family, but it always sucks coming back here. Daniel started school again yesterday, and of course, it already feels like we didn't even have a break from it! But after this semester is over he will be halfway done with his second year! Time is flying by. But life's good!

Sidenote--I want to go to Texas. I want to meet Katie's boyfriend and see the Suters and spend time with my old girlfriends while we get pedicures and eat at Pappasitos.. I hate money! Someday, someday.
